Tenka Musou, Menkyo Kaiden, Kami no Ryoiki — you see these titles on the rankings and in battle, but the names alone don't tell you how to get them. "How do I earn that one?" and "How many titles are there?" are two of the questions we hear most while running the game.
This article is the developer's first-hand map of the whole title system. The short version: titles come in three families — 80 purchasable in the Armory with MC, 6 achievement-only titles you cannot buy, and 5 season titles awarded by final ranking — 91 in total. You'll find price tiers, unlock conditions, and prize money in tables, plus a priority guide on what to chase first.
One premise up front: Typing Musou is completely free with no paid currency. Every title is earned either with MC — the in-game currency you earn by playing battles and the dojo — or through play achievements. Figures reflect the live implementation as of July 2026 and may change with future tuning.
ESSENCE
Essence: three families, 91 titles
The conclusion first. Typing Musou has three families of titles, 91 in total. The family determines whether anyone can buy it by saving MC, or whether it takes a specific achievement or season ranking.
1. Purchasable titles (80) — trade MC in the Armory
Common ×30 (200–1,700 MC), Rare ×30 (2,000–7,500 MC), Epic ×12 (12,000–38,000 MC), Legendary ×8 (45,000–999,999 MC). Save the MC and anyone can buy them — and MC is earned for free just by playing.
2. Achievement titles (6) — money can't buy them
Menkyo Kaiden and Menkyo Kaiden Goku from the Home Position Dojo, plus the four login-streak titles (Okibi, Kiezu no Honoo, Gouka Fumetsu, Eigou no Tomoshibi). They're granted automatically to players who meet the condition and never appear in the Armory.
3. Season titles (5) — medals of final ranking
Awarded automatically by final season standing, from Tenka Musou (1st place) down to Kaiden (top 100). Each carries the season's generation — like "Season I Tenka Musou" — and comes with a prize of up to 100,000 MC.
Note that no title affects battle stats in any way. They're pure medals of skill and journey — which is exactly why the achievement and season titles, the ones you can't simply re-buy, carry a value money can't reach. Let's walk through each family.
ARMORY
The 80 purchasable titles — price tiers
There are 80 purchasable titles, traded for MC in the Armory (the in-game shop). Prices run from 200 MC at the bottom to 999,999 MC at the top, across four rarity tiers. Here's the full picture.
| Rarity | Count | Price range (MC) | Representative titles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 30 | 200–1,700 | Minarai Kenshi, Shippu, Battojutsu, Buraikan |
| Rare | 30 | 2,000–7,500 | Hyakusen Renma, Furinkazan, Kensei no Henrin, Ryuga |
| Epic | 12 | 12,000–38,000 | Ichigeki Hissatsu, Shinsoku, Rengoku, Bansho Hokai |
| Legendary | 8 | 45,000–999,999 | Tenka Musou, Kentei, Densetsu no Dakenshi, Kami no Ryoiki |
For a sense of scale: a ranked win pays 450 MC (a loss still pays 180 MC). The entry Commons are within reach after a handful of matches, and Rares are realistic with a day of steady play. At the other end, the most expensive Legendary — Kami no Ryoiki at 999,999 MC — is deliberately priced as the endgame summit, a true long-term goal.
Battles aren't the only income, either. The dojo's Speed Trial pays 280 MC per clear, CPU skirmishes pay 180–440 MC depending on difficulty, and the Home Position Dojo pays 200 MC per stage and 1,000 MC per chapter boss. The full lay of the land is in the beginner's guide.
PICKUP
Representative titles by rarity
Many players just want to browse the names, so here's a curated list by rarity with prices. Listing all 80 would run long, so we picked the entries that best convey each tier's flavor and price range — the rest are waiting in the in-game Armory.

The naming forms a staircase through the game's world: a novice swordfighter trains, weathers wind and lightning, and finally reaches legend. It starts at Minarai Kenshi (apprentice swordfighter) and ends at names like Tenka Musou, Kentei, and Kami no Ryoiki that announce their rank on sight. Swapping your title at each milestone of your own skill is, in my view, the most satisfying way to use them.
ACHIEVEMENT
The 6 achievement-only titles
The conclusion: six titles cannot be bought at any price. Two come from the Home Position Dojo, and four from login streaks. Each is granted automatically when the condition is met, and none appear in the Armory.
| Title | Rarity | How to earn it |
|---|---|---|
| 免許皆伝 (Menkyo Kaiden) | Rare | Granted for breaking through the Home Position Dojo's gauntlet |
| 免許皆伝・極 (Menkyo Kaiden Goku) | Legendary | Clear stage 100 "Shumonshi," the dojo's final exam (also pays 10,000 MC) |
| 熾火 (Okibi) | Common | Login streak — first of four milestones, granted automatically |
| 不消の炎 (Kiezu no Honoo) | Rare | Login streak — second milestone |
| 業火不滅 (Gouka Fumetsu) | Epic | Login streak — third milestone |
| 永劫の灯火 (Eigou no Tomoshibi) | Legendary | Login streak — final milestone, the proof of persistence |
Menkyo Kaiden Goku is the proof of defeating Shumonshi, the final exam waiting at stage 100 of the Home Position Dojo — a Legendary achievement title. Clearing it also pays 10,000 MC, so you bank a Legendary title and Legendary-tier funds at once. The dojo climbs from beginner chapters up to the mastery chapters, so it doubles as the best foundation training in the game.
The login-streak titles ascend from Okibi (embers) through Kiezu no Honoo and Gouka Fumetsu to Eigou no Tomoshibi (the eternal light) — the longer the streak, the rarer the flame. They're designed less as something to chase and more as something you notice glowing one day because you kept playing.
SEASON
The 5 season titles and MC prizes
The conclusion: season titles are five titles granted automatically by your final standing when each two-month season ends. They can't be bought, and they don't stack — you receive only the highest one you qualify for, together with its MC prize.
| Title | Final rank | Rarity | MC prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| 天下無双 (Tenka Musou) | 1st | Legendary | 100,000 |
| 覇王 (Haou) | Top 3 | Legendary | 50,000 |
| 剣聖 (Kensei) | Top 10 | Epic | 25,000 |
| 師範 (Shihan) | Top 30 | Epic | 12,000 |
| 皆伝 (Kaiden) | Top 100 | Rare | 6,000 |
What makes season titles special is the generation prefix. Win season one and you are "Season I Tenka Musou"; win season two and it reads "Season II" — the same title forever records which era you ruled. The Armory does sell a purchasable Tenka Musou for 45,000 MC, but only the season version carries a generation. Anyone who knows the game can tell them apart at a glance.
The realistic target for most players is Kaiden (top 100). You don't need Legendary-grade skill — playing consistently through the season puts it well within reach, and the 6,000 MC prize equals a full Rare title. Even outside the top 100, one ranked match during the season earns the 3,900 MC participation reward, so there's no reason to sit a season out.
Standings are decided by rating. How rating, dan ranks, and the soft reset work is covered in the complete ranked guide.
PRIORITY
What to chase first — a priority guide
The conclusion: the recommended order is one Common → Menkyo Kaiden → a Rare → season Kaiden (top 100) → Epic/Legendary. With no paid currency, everyone stands on the same ground — how you spend MC and stack achievements is where personality shows.
- 01.Buy one Common first (200–1,700 MC). A ranked win pays 450 MC, so it takes only a few matches. Wearing Minarai Kenshi first is this game's rite of passage.
- 02.Progress the Home Position Dojo in parallel toward Menkyo Kaiden. You collect the title, MC (200 per stage, 1,000 per chapter boss), and typing fundamentals at the same time.
- 03.Pick a favorite from the Rare tier (2,000–7,500 MC). Names like Hyakusen Renma and Furinkazan carry real presence in battle — the best value tier in the shop.
- 04.Aim for season Kaiden (top 100). It's a realistic goal with consistent play, and the 6,000 MC prize funds your Epic savings.
- 05.Treat Epic and Legendary as long-term goals. Routing through stage 100's Menkyo Kaiden Goku (+10,000 MC) makes the funding plan much easier.
One caveat: titles aren't the only thing MC buys. Characters and star-rank upgrades (3,000 MC per attempt) also draw from the same wallet — and those are what actually affect your win rate. When you're pushing rating, fund the characters first and treat titles as milestone rewards. How to split the budget is covered in characters and star-rank upgrades.
Don't chase the login-streak titles at all. Play daily and they light themselves. Just keep the flame from going out.
FAQ
FAQ
Q. How many titles are there in Typing Musou?
91 in total: 80 purchasable in the Armory (30 Common, 30 Rare, 12 Epic, 8 Legendary), 6 achievement-only titles (Menkyo Kaiden, Menkyo Kaiden Goku, and the four login-streak titles), and 5 season titles (Tenka Musou, Haou, Kensei, Shihan, Kaiden).
Q. How do I get Tenka Musou?
Two routes: buy it in the Armory for 45,000 MC, or finish a season in 1st place and receive it automatically. The season version carries a generation prefix like "Season I Tenka Musou" and a 100,000 MC prize; the purchased version has no prefix, so the two are visibly distinct.
Q. How do I earn Menkyo Kaiden?
It's an achievement title from the Home Position Dojo (100 stages) and cannot be bought. Menkyo Kaiden (Rare) marks breaking through the dojo's gauntlet, and Menkyo Kaiden Goku (Legendary) is granted for clearing the final stage 100, "Shumonshi" — which also pays 10,000 MC. Start at the Home Position Dojo.
Q. Do titles give any advantage in battle?
No. Titles never affect stats or skills — they're pure cosmetics, medals of your journey. What decides matches is typing skill plus character choice and star-rank upgrades, so if you want practical value from MC, spend it on characters first.
Q. Is there a season reward if I miss the top 100?
Yes. Anyone who played at least one ranked match during the season receives 3,900 MC as a participation reward, even outside the top 100. No title comes with it, but a single match is enough — so it always pays to queue at least once per season.
Q. Can I buy MC with real money?
No. Typing Musou is completely free with no paid currency; MC is earned only by playing. The main sources are ranked battles (450 MC per win, 180 per loss), the dojo's Speed Trial (280 MC), CPU skirmishes (180–440 MC), and the Home Position Dojo (200–1,000 MC).
Q. What's the most expensive title?
Among purchasable titles it's the Legendary Kami no Ryoiki at 999,999 MC. The other Legendaries are Tenka Musou (45,000), Banpu Futo (60,000), Kentei (75,000), Koku Giri (98,000), Zettai Oja (120,000), Shinra Bansho (150,000), and Densetsu no Dakenshi (225,000). Kami no Ryoiki is priced as the game's long-term endgame goal.
SUMMARY
Summary — titles are a record of the road
Typing Musou's titles span three families — 80 purchasable, 6 achievement-only, 5 seasonal — 91 in total. Purchased titles show the hours you've put in, achievement titles show what you've built, and season titles show where you stood in your era. Precisely because they change nothing in battle, the one you wear says everything about your journey.
Buy one Common, work toward Menkyo Kaiden in the Home Position Dojo, and aim for season Kaiden (top 100) — running the game, that's the route I've seen players enjoy most. You can always see what the current top players are wearing on the world rankings.
