School edition beta programme
This document sets out the terms on which a school may use the Typing Musou school edition under our beta programme. Article 10 of the Terms of Service (School edition) states that the term, scope, and whether a trial is free of charge are fixed by individual agreement; this page publishes those terms in advance so that they can be reviewed before you apply. It is written so that a teacher can pass it to school management as it stands.

1. Status of this document
This document sets out the terms on which the school edition — classes, assignments, the gradebook, rankings, growth records, weak-key analysis, Google Classroom integration and related features — is provided free of charge under the beta programme. Terms common to the school edition are set out in Article 10 of the Terms of Service, and the handling of personal information in 'Handling of personal information in the school edition'. This document adds the terms specific to the beta period.
Where this document differs from Article 10 of the Terms of Service, this document prevails for the duration of the beta period. Matters not covered here are governed by the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. The version in force is the one published when you apply. If we revise it, we will notify schools already taking part in advance, and we will not make changes during the beta period that are to your disadvantage.
2. Term
The beta programme runs until 31 March 2027. The end date is aligned to the Japanese school year and is the same for every participating school, including those that join partway through the year.
- Start — the day your school and its teacher accounts are registered.
- End — 31 March 2027.
- Extension — before the term expires we will discuss continuation and its terms with you individually. See section 4.
3. Cost and what is included
No charge is made during the beta period, either to the school or to students and their guardians. The following is included.
| Item | During the beta period |
|---|---|
| All school-edition features | Free of charge |
| Number of teacher accounts | No limit |
| Number of classes and enrolled students | No limit |
| Google Classroom integration | Free of charge |
| The game itself (training hall, matches, characters) | Free of charge, as for any user |
| Cost to students and guardians | None |
| On-site training, bespoke development, forms tailored to your templates | By separate arrangement |
The Service contains no payment path for students at all (Terms of Service, Article 6): in-game currency cannot be exchanged for money and no purchase function exists. We will not narrow the scope set out above during the beta period.
4. What happens when the beta ends
Schools that wish to continue will be offered a paid plan, quoted separately.
- When you will see it — the content and price of the paid plan will be provided no later than three months before the beta ends (by the end of December 2026), so that there is time to consider it in your next budget.
- If you do not continue — no further charge and no penalty arise. No action is needed: the school-edition screens simply stop being available when the term expires.
- Effect on students — student accounts, play records, ranks, and items are unaffected and remain in place. Students continue to use the Service as individual users; only the school-edition screens stop being shown.
5. Support scope and response times
Support during the beta period is handled through the same channel as for paid use.
- Channel — email ([email protected]) or the LINE account for teachers, whichever you prefer. There is no difference in what each is for, and enquiries are handled by the operator personally either way.
- First response — within 24 hours on weekdays (excluding weekends, public holidays, and the new-year period). A first response means acknowledgement and an indication of what happens next, not that the cause has been identified.
- Outages and widespread faults — work begins immediately on becoming aware of them, and we tell you when we expect service to be restored.
- Planned maintenance — announced in advance within the Service. We avoid weekday lesson hours (08:00–17:00) as a matter of course.
- Out of scope — we cannot investigate or change your school network, devices, or Google Workspace configuration. We will supply wording and the information you need for a filtering-exemption request.
6. What we ask in return
The purpose of the beta is to learn what is missing when the Service is used in real lessons. We ask two things, both optional; declining changes nothing about the terms.
- Tell us what got in the way, or what is missing, when you notice it.
- Take part in a short review towards the end of the term.
We act on what we can as it arrives, and publish what changed in the in-service announcements, so you can see how a suggestion was handled.
7. Withdrawing during the term
You may end your participation at any time simply by telling us. No reason is required, and no penalty or other charge arises.
- How — contact us through the channel in section 5.
- Afterwards — the school-edition screens stop being available. Data is handled as set out in section 9.
- Effect on students — ending mid-term or mid-lesson does not affect student accounts or their play records.
If you are willing, we would be glad to hear what did not work. This is for our own improvement and has no bearing on the withdrawal itself.
8. Exporting records
Teachers can export a class's records as CSV at any time, both during use and at the end. There is no limit on the number of exports and no need to ask us — the teacher does it directly. Files are UTF-8 with a byte-order mark so that they open correctly in Japanese Excel, and one row is one student, so they line up with your own roster files.
| Group | Columns |
|---|---|
| Roster | Roster number, in-class display name, and the account name used in the Service |
| Attainment | Overall score, best typing speed, highest rank reached, best accuracy, furthest stage, number of sessions |
| Growth | For speed and accuracy: the average of the first few sessions, the average of the most recent ones, the difference, and how many sessions each average covers |
| Per assignment | State (not started, in progress, done, excused), score, date completed, and whether it was completed by the due date |
The number of sessions is shown alongside growth so that an average over three sessions is not mistaken for an average over ten. An excused assignment is left blank rather than scored zero, and is excluded from the overall score.
9. Data after the term ends
School-edition data is not deleted automatically when the term ends, so that it can be restored intact if you resume in a later year.
- If the term simply ends — the school-edition screens stop being shown; the data is retained.
- If you ask for deletion — contact us through the channel in section 5. We delete your school-edition data and return a report stating what was deleted and when.
- What is deleted — enrolment records, assignments, completion status, assessments, teacher comments, and roster data: the school-edition data.
- What is not deleted — student accounts, in-game currency, items, ranks, and match and training records. These belong to the student, not the school, and are not ours to delete on the school's instruction (Terms of Service, Article 10). A student can delete their own account at any time from the settings screen.
Retention periods, sub-processors and where data is stored, and the security measures in place are set out in 'Handling of personal information in the school edition'.
10. Naming your school
We do not publish your school's name, location, or specific case details in any of our own communications — website, press releases, material supplied to the media, social accounts, or sales material. If we would like to, we will ask you individually each time, and will do so only with your written consent. Declining changes nothing about the terms.
Statistics that do not identify your school, such as the number of participating schools or the spread of year groups, may be published.
11. How many schools we can take
For the time being we work with a small number of schools closely. The Service is run by a small team and we cannot support many simultaneous rollouts. Depending on demand, we may need to discuss timing with you.
12. What to expect from a beta
The beta is not a finished product. Please apply on the following understanding.
- Screens and features will change — we announce in advance any change that affects the steps you follow in a lesson.
- Faults can occur — we run the Service with the preservation of learning records as the first priority, but we do not warrant that it is free of defects (Terms of Service, Article 11).
- Students share the Service with the wider public — in match modes, names chosen by users outside your school are displayed. Assignments can be restricted to training-hall and home-position practice, so teachers can decide the scope used in lessons.
- Responsibility for assessment — scores and growth figures derived from learning records are supporting material. Final judgement and accountability for assessing a student rest with the teacher and the school (Terms of Service, Article 10).
13. From application to first lesson
- Get in touch
Write to [email protected], or use the LINE account for teachers — whichever you prefer. Enquiries at the exploratory stage are welcome.
- Check the Service opens on school devices
This is the one thing we ask for first. If your device filtering blocks the Service, every other preparation is wasted. How to request an exemption is set out in 'When your school network blocks Typing Musou'.
- Register the school and its teachers
Send us the school name and the email addresses of the teachers who will use it, and we register them. A teacher then signs in with that address and has teacher access.
- Create a class and enrol students
Creating a class produces a six-character join code that students use to enrol. If you use Google Classroom, the roster can be imported instead.
- Set an assignment
Completion is collated automatically and feeds the gradebook and growth records. From here on it is ordinary use.
14. Operator
The beta programme is provided by:
| Operator | タイピング無双 |
|---|---|
| Representative | 横山誠 |
| Contact | [email protected] |
The registered address (the representative's own address, as this is a sole proprietorship) will be provided promptly in writing on request to the contact above, and is provided in writing when you apply.
15. Contact
For questions about this document, and to apply for the beta programme, write to the address below. Telling us the school name, your name, the year groups involved, and the devices you plan to use lets us answer specifically in our first reply.
We reply within 24 hours on weekdays (excluding weekends, public holidays, and the new-year period). The LINE account for teachers takes the same enquiries, and it makes no difference to how they are handled.
