Deciding to adopt
Documents to pass to school management, office staff, or whoever reviews cloud services.
ForSchool management and office staff
The terms of the beta programme. It is free of charge until 31 March 2027, with no limit on numbers. You can stop at any time simply by telling us, with no cancellation fee, and we give a first reply within 24 hours on weekdays. It also covers exporting records and deleting data afterwards, and the steps from applying to getting started.
ForSchool and board-of-education IT staff
Nineteen sections, in the order they usually come up in a cloud-service review: what information we handle, subcontractors and where data is stored, who can see what, sending to external AI services, retention and deletion, incident response, and how information from Google is used. Information handled by Joho Musou is covered in the same document.
ForSchool and board-of-education IT staff
The security policy the operator follows: organization, legal compliance, day-to-day measures, incident response, cover for when the representative is unavailable, and where to report a vulnerability. Use it when a review asks for a published policy.
ForSchool management and office staff
Conditions that apply to the school edition whether or not it is a trial: the school is the contracting party, student accounts belong to the students, scores and records are aids to the teacher's assessment, and how CSV export and notice of discontinuation work.
Getting started
School devices, the network, and Google settings. Please check these before the first lesson.
ForTeachers and ICT staff
What to do when the school's web filter blocks the site as a game: why it happens, how to find where it is blocked, a request letter you can hand to the school or board of education as it stands, and technical details for network administrators.
ForThe school's Google Workspace administrator
The setting that stops students seeing "Access blocked" when they sign in with Google. It lists the client ID to mark as a trusted app and the permissions requested when a teacher connects Classroom. Teachers and students do not need to do anything. Not needed if students join with a class code instead of Classroom.
ForICT staff who manage the devices
How to put Typing Musou on every student's device as an app: force-install from the Google Admin console, and iPad MDM web clip settings. On iPad the app and Safari keep separate records, so it also explains how signing in keeps students from losing them.
Using it in class
Materials you can use in lessons or hand out as they are.
ForTeachers and students
An article that explains where each finger goes in 14 figures: which keys each finger covers, the bumps on F and J, and each finger and row in turn. The figures are also bundled into one PDF (A4 landscape, 14 pages) that you are free to print or put on lesson slides.
ForTeachers and students
Questions and answers about the game itself — getting started, game modes, battle rules, accounts and records, and controls and troubleshooting. Handy when students ask "how do I…?" during a lesson.
Documents sent on request
Documents we send to schools that sign a memorandum or ask us to delete their data.
These documents are not published on the web. We send them to schools that ask, with the school's name filled in. Contact us on LINE or by email.
Memorandum on the handling of personal information (template)
ForSchool or board-of-education staff
A template for when a school wants to sign a memorandum or special provisions but has no form of its own. It covers confidentiality, no use beyond the stated purposes, subcontracting, incident reporting, and what happens to data when the contract ends.
Deletion completion report (Form 1)
ForSchool or board-of-education staff
The report we send after deleting a school's data, stating what was deleted, when, and how many records.
Self-assessment report (Form 2)
ForSchool or board-of-education staff
The report we send once a year to schools that have signed the memorandum, giving the results of the operator's check against each article.
